Mey:design is a one-man show based on a simple premise: I want to find great small businesses.
Why do I design websites for small businesses? About.
So, why build websites to accomplish this? My primary source of information is the internet. I haven’t touched the yellow pages in years, 411 costs too much money on cell phones, and, for me, using Google takes minimal effort.
I got really frustrated sometimes. I found websites of small local businesses and they were poorly designed: there were splling & grammer mistake ever-e-ware, the sites withheld information that I needed, and the graphics and text were blinking at me… text doesn’t blink! Much worse, when I couldn’t find a website, sometimes I would give up on the business entirely. It’s nothing personal… really. It’s me, not you.
So, after many years of study, disappointment and tears late at night, I decided it was time to step up and help small businesses out. People like you who need great websites and people like me who want great websites. You DO have a great business idea and we CAN create something amazing for it on the internet. We can make our small businesses, bigger.
How can I help you? Services.
Here’s what services I offer:- Web Site Creation, Design & Implementation

So, whose business is now bigger? The Portfolio.
Andtego
Andtego, a small financial consulting group, came to me in the summer of 2007. Andtego needed a website, a gateway that gave clients the information they needed, but displayed the energetic, confident owner’s personality. Being a financial group, a more conservative website was necessary, but they already had very active and quite lovely colors in their logo design. So how did I make them bigger?
With ease! I created a website that informed clients how to contact them, a schedule of events, and who they were. Nothing too complex, but they’ve received several compliments from their customers merely a month after launch about how easy and informative the website was. So what did they say about us?
Hey, that’s pretty nice of them (Psst… Checks in the mail). We partnered with Meydesign in Summer 2007 to assist us in evaluating our current website and to offer suggestions for remodeling the site to match our new branding guidelines.
Our need was to communicate the services we offer to visitors on our site, in a very simple fashion. Meydesign went above our expectations. In a very timely manner, they had suggestions and visuals of an inviting canvas that followed our branding guidelines. They ensured our customers were aware of our site going live, and monitored the site after its launch to ensure all was operating properly.
You will be very pleased with the innovation they provide, the attention to every detail, and the personalized service.
What else have I created?
Real Estate Journey
For several years, Real Estate Journey was the office I called home. Placed in charge of IT and anything that had a plug in it, I took to developing the real estate journey website professionally (I, however, was banned from the microwave after a “popcorn incident”). The site’s intention was to be a catalog site, as our specialty was not online ordering. The design highlights the marketing products and all product category logos were designed by Mey:design.
Massimis
One of the earlier websites created, Massimis needed a place to call home.com. So, I created a simple layout, directions to the restaurant, and all the information one would need about a dining locale. The challenge was in presenting the elegance of the restaurant in 2D form. The website turned out excellent and the vibrant colors of the food and wine leaked onto the page.
OK, I’ve dealt with your terrible puns and jokes, but am still interested in your services. Let’s get down to brass tacks: How much do you cost? Pricing.
I wish I could give you a direct answer, but unfortunately much like the technology itself, projects shift and change based upon what’s required. I can however give you the following information:
- For “website design, creation, and implementation”, copywriting, and graphic design my rate is $40/hour. For additional services on top of that (for example, copywriting for the site I’m designing, I charge $10 extra per hour). Everything is written and signed, and that extra $10/hour will be agreed upon before we begin.
- For Maintenance Services the going rate is $60/hour
- When the process starts I require 25% upfront of the agreed upon contract. In a bad month, it takes me about 120 hours to build and perfect a website like www.andtego.com. Each project is different. Don’t let the numbers scare you before I get the chance to.
This all sounds quite lovely. How do we get in touch? Contact.
Wait! Wait! Before you get in touch with me, I need you to fill out a form. I know, I know… these web designers always with their forms. The great part is, by filling it out, it makes it easier for me to understand what precisely you need from me and if I can help you.
